Microsoft's Upcoming Exclusives


Microsoft is looking to get back on top of the games industry in 2020 with the Xbox Series X, Game Pass, and Project xCloud. In recent years, the company has added quality of life improvements to its platforms, adding cross-play with other consoles and PC and going the extra mile to expand gaming to players unable to use a traditional controller with the innovative Xbox Adaptive Controller.

However, it's going to take a great lineup of exclusives to win most folks over in 2020. Below you can find the most significant Series X and Xbox One console exclusives coming this year. Ori and the Will of the Wisps


Ori and the Will of the Wisps is the sequel to 2015's Ori and the Blind Forest, a whimsical side-scrolling Metroidvania adventure. Will of the Wisps looks to bring back the precise platforming and escape sequences of the previous game while exploring more of its vibrant world and emotional storytelling.

Bleeding Edge


Bleeding Edge is a third-person 4v4 hero melee action game from Ninja Theory, the developer of DmC: Devil May Cry and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. It throws you onto a map and supplies you with a stylish arsenal of attacks and combos with which to wipe the floor with your friends. With 12 characters to choose from, each armed with a unique fighting style, you work to capture objective points while beating the crap out of the enemy team.

Crusader Kings III


Crusader Kings III comes from a series of strategy games focused on feudal powers during the Middle Ages. It has a map stretching from Spain to India and Scandinavia to Central Africa. While setting up your dynasty, you can employ a variety of deceptive schemes, including murder, seduction, and blackmail. If you enjoy beating up peasants, levying taxes, and producing heirs, Crusader Kings III might be the experience you've been waiting on.

Grounded


Grounded is a co-op survival game that seems inspired by Honey, I Shrunk The Kids in that it shares a similar premise. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment--a studio that's known for RPGs like The Outer Worlds and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II--the game challenges you to cook food, find water, construct bases, and craft weapons to survive its towering threats.

Halo: Infinite


Microsoft isn't playing around for the launch of Xbox Series X. That's because Halo: Infinite is set to be part of its launch lineup, along with PC and Xbox One versions. Master Chief returns this time to finish off the current saga of the Halo storyline, which is said to be a "more human story" overall. All we've seen thus far is the first reveal trailer at E3 2018 and the teaser at E3 2019. Hopefully, we can learn more about Halo Infinite in the upcoming beta ahead of the game's launch.

Microsoft Flight Simulator


It has been far too long since flight-sim fans used their Thrustmaster joysticks to play a brand new Microsoft Flight Simulator. After all, the last entry came out in 2006. While we don't know precisely when the new game will take flight this year, we do know that it'll include a wide variety of aircraft to fly, as well as up-to-date real-world landscapes based on satellite images rendered in 4K.

Session


Session is a skating simulator that's looking to reinvigorate the fan-favorite genre with a stick-per-foot skating system, a gameplay footage editing and sharing functionality, and recreations of the world's most iconic skate parks for you to explore. It went into early access on Steam in late 2019 and ran into delays transitioning to Xbox One. We're not exactly sure how much longer fans of the game will have to wait, but it's confirmed to launch for the platform sometime this year.

Tell Me Why


Tell Me Why is a narrative adventure game from the studio that made Life Is Strange. It focuses on twins Allison and Tyler, who return to Alaska to investigate childhood trauma while being faced with their different interpretations of events. Tell Me Why's story will unravel across three chapters, and you can expect to start sometime this year.
