Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 Best Landing Spots Friv 0

The Fortnite Chapter 5 map is a much different beast than the island we fought on in Chapter 4. Obviously, it's an entirely new island with entirely new landmarks on it, but it also feels pretty different. This map is more geographically volatile--meaning there are a lot more hills and mountains and sharp cliff faces all over the place, much more like the retro map we played on in OG season.

Likewise, we've got entirely new types of locations here, with multiple Places of Interest (POIs) that are primarily just a single massive building, something Fortnite has never done before. It's a whole new ballgame out there in some significant ways, and it's been a process to find the best landing spots.

But found them we have. Below you'll see our nine favorite places to drop in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, as well as our reasons for loving those places so you can see if you might want to try them out as well. Let's take a look.

Rebel's Roost

Most of the major named locations on the Chapter 5 map are warzones from the very start, but I rarely encounter other players at this POI in the far northwest corner of the map, which is home to the NPC Steelsight, who sells grapple blades and is available for hire. Beyond that, you'll find more than enough loot here to outfit an entire squad.

Ruined Reels

Given its central location, Ruined Reels naturally gets more traffic than Rebel's Roost, but Tilted Towers this ain't. This spot is remarkably chill for being right in the middle of the island, and its centrality means the whole circle is open to you.

Grand Glacier satellite building

Montague's mythic Nemesis AR is absolutely worth dying for, but since it's mostly one very large building, Grand Glacier (like Lavish Lair) provides too many angles to get surprised from for there to be a specific reliable drop spot on the main property itself. Instead, away a little bit to the northeast there's a smaller building that usually has at least one vehicle parked out front along with a sewer tunnel that will take you right to the entrance of the Grand Glacier vault beneath the main staircase. There's a good chance you'll have to fight someone here, but it's a much safer bet than going straight into the main building for most players.

Valeria's house in Reckless Railways

Every POI that has a boss with a medallion and mythic weapon tends to be exceedlingly chaotic because those mythic guns are actually good enough to be worth the hassle of fighting over them. But fighting the bosses and their armies of NPCs is super dangerous at the start of a round because it's so easy to get jumped by an opposing team while you're looking at the NPCs.

But Valeria's house, in the southwest corner of town, is a smaller area than the other places where the bosses roam, and it's also a walled compound, making it nearly impossible for other players to attack you from afar unless you're standing on the roof. That means it's a great spot for ambushes--this house is so small and has so many places to hide that you use the boss, or her medallion, as bait much easier than you can elsewhere.

The big boat

On the western side of the island directly south of Ritzy Riviera is a yacht that has a mini-vault that occasionally spawns a weapon bench, and it also has ziplines and a jump pad for quickly moving on to nearby Pleasant Piazza or the Riviera. It's also an ideal alternate spot for when those nearby POIs are too hot.

Snooty Shores train station

Snooty Shores is the home of Peter Griffin and his mythic pump shotgun. If I'm playing solo I will usually land right at his houze on the western end of town, but in groups I've found that the train station directly to the north is a good alternative--it's got a med machine, loot, and a large chunk of earth between you and all the people who landed at Snooty Shores proper, and when you're ready to fght there's a tunnel that will take you right into the middle of town.

Classy Courts train station

There's a similar setup near Classy Courts, minus the tunnel. While Classy Courts is often not quite as wild as the spots with bosses, it's also more wide open than mostof the others and is a bit of a sniper's paradise as a result. Landing at the fringes is a must if you've got a lot of opponents there, and this station is a otherwise great spot for the same reasons listed above.

The underground base near Hazy Hillside

I'm a huge fan of the underground bases on this map, but the one between Fencing Fields and Pleasant Piazza that Vengeance Jones lives at is in a pretty high traffic area that people are constantly wandering into. That's not the case as much for the other base, next to the train tunnel north of Hazy Hillside, which has a selection of gun cases and a chance of a weapon bench, and plenty of loot.

The coast south of Fencing Fields

There's a stretch of coast on the southern part of the island where you can find a train station and a restaurant across the street from each other, a big mansion on a weirdly tall island to the southeast, and another non-named, but still pretty big other building a little further off to the west. These three spots from a sort of spread-out, off-the-grid POI, and any of them make for a good landing spot.
