Friv0 games online free See more

Survival is of utmost importance in Lords of the Fallen. As a Soulslike game, you can expect challenging enemies and deadly environments, all looking to give you a headache. Our guide discusses how to get Saintly Quintessence in Lords of the Fallen, an item used to upgrade your Sanguinarix flask. Hopefully, the extra charges and increased healing would be enough to see you through each fight. Likewise, please be reminded that this article contains minor spoilers.

How to upgrade your Sanguinarix flask and get Saintly Quintessence in Lords of the Fallen

You can upgrade your flask in Lords of the Fallen by giving the required number of Saintly Quintessence to Pieta, an NPC in the Skyrest hub. Each time you hand over the necessary items, you'll either gain an extra flask charge or an increase to the amount of healing done.

As for the Lords of the Fallen Saintly Quintessence items themselves, these usually come from tormented souls in the Umbral Realm, which tend to have golden glows. You'll need to do a Soulflay action with your Umbral Lamp to pull the loot so you could pick it up. So far, we've found 16 Saintly Quintessence during our playthrough, but there might be more. We've organized our list based on when we reached these areas in the campaign.

Tutorial Area Saintly Quintessence

You really can't miss the first Saintly Quintessence item in the game. It'll be right in front of you as you proceed further into the Umbral section of the tutorial area.

Pilgrim's Perch Saintly Quintessence

You'll find a Saintly Quintessence in the room where you fight Scourge Sister Delyth. It's right next to the orbs that you need to destroy to remove her buffs.

Forsaken Fen Saintly Quintessence

Upon reaching the first large bonfire, you'll notice a house next to a flooded area. Switch to the Umbral Realm and grab this item in the back corner before the moth creatures start attacking you.

Fitzroy's Gorge Saintly Quintessence

Continue through Fitzroy's Gorge until you arrive at the graveyard just past the tower. This is also after you encounter the Ruiner miniboss, as well as the Lightreaper (this spot is one of his potential spawn locations). Once at the graveyard, switch to the Umbral Realm to pick up this item. Just beware of a Mendacious Visage stone-face elite nearby.

Lower Calrath Slums Saintly Quintessence

Head through the burning slums area until you arrive at a large gatehouse. Once you reach the top, you'll see this Lords of the Fallen Saintly Quintessence item.

Calrath District Saintly Quintessence

After beating the Spurned Progeny boss, you'll arrive at a vestige waypoint and, beyond that, there's a small plaza. The statue here has a Saintly Quintessence.

Path of Devotion Saintly Quintessence

For this Saintly Quintessence, you'll need the Pilgrim's Perch Key, which unlocks a door next to the Bellroom vestige. From there, head to the upper section until you reach the Sacred Resonance of Tenacity's boss chamber. The area just past this boss leads to the Leprosarium and other zones.

However, if you keep climbing up the steps prior to his arena, you'll reach a cliffside section called the Path of Devotion (which is related to the secret quest that unlocks the Dark Crusader class). As you approach a hill, switch to the Umbral and go to the floating platform across the gap. You'll be able to pull this loot from a tortured soul.

Leprosarium Saintly Quintessence

For this item, you'll need to obtain the Abbott's Key inside the sanctum of the Leprosarium building. You may then open the central chamber in the back courtyard. There are several cultists praying to the statue that has the loot, though they don't really bother you.

Abbey Saintly Quintessence #1

The Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters zone has two Lords of the Fallen Saintly Quintessence items. You can get the first after beating Abbess Ursula. Continue making your way to the top of the monastery and take out the elite that's shooting holy beams at you. Then, switch to the Umbral Realm. You'll see a sinewy path that leads to a gazebo in the distance. Watch out because the loot is also guarded by a Mendacious Visage.

Abbey Saintly Quintessence #2

Once you've defeated Rapturous Huntress, head to the back area to reach yet another gazebo. Upon crossing the gap and grabbing the item, an Abbess elite will spawn. Be careful since it will continuously fire its holy beam from a distance.

Empyrean Saintly Quintessence

Proceed further into the level until you reach a massive cathedral known as the Empyrean. You can enter it by way of a ruined tower that you can only see in the Umbral Realm. Once you reach the second floor, you can pick up the Empyrean Key in the corridor to the right. The Saintly Quintessence, meanwhile, is in the left side hallway.

Tower of Penance Saintly Quintessence

You can only obtain this item after beating Tancred and Reinhold, a heresy-type boss that guards the lower depths of the Tower of Penance. Once your foe has been vanquished, take the other exit to the cliffside and swap to the Umbral Realm. You'll see a ladder that you can climb to a hillside section that has this item.

Kinrangr Fief Saintly Quintessence #1

There are two Lords of the Fallen Saintly Quintessence items in the Kinrangr Fief, which is basically this game's snowy area. The first requires you to trek past the vestige waypoint, going around the ravine until you take out a miniboss named Griefbound Rowena.

You'll then find yourself along the walls of the stone fort from earlier. Use your Umbral Lamp to pull the movable platform, which will allow you to jump down and grab the item from a small nook below.

Kinrangr Fief Saintly Quintessence #2

The second Saintly Quintessence item in Kinrangr Fief can be found well after you've eliminated the Hollow Crow, the heresy-type boss in this zone. Follow the snowfields past the beacon and make a left at the fork. You'll enter a ruined village with a central section blocked by an Umbral Entity.

You can destroy the Umbral Entity by pulling the two tortured souls in the areas to the left and right. You should then be able to go through the center, which has a statue with the item. Note that the left-hand side has a Rebirth Chrysalis, which is used to respec your character.

Revelation Depths Saintly Quintessence

The Revelation Depths is a somewhat hidden area well below the Calrath Cistern zone. Proceed further into the large caverns until you're well past a construction site. You'll see a floating landmass in the distance, which can only be reached if you traverse the pathway in the Umbral Realm.

Bramis Castle Saintly Quintessence #1

Bramis Castle is likely the last zone that you'll visit during the campaign. There are two Saintly Quintessence items to be obtained in this place. For the first material, check the gap to the left after defeating Damirose the Marked. If you switch to the Umbral Realm, you'll notice a climbable ledge.

Bramis Castle Saintly Quintessence #2

The second Saintly Quintessence in Bramis Castle requires you to head to the interior of the palace complex. Interact with the lever at the back to make the staircase rotate. Once you reach the second floor, use your Umbral Lamp to pull the platforms and cross the gap.

That does it for our Lords of the Fallen Saintly Quintessence flask upgrades guide. We'll let you know if we discover more of these items. In the meantime, you can check out our guides on Umbral Lamp upgrades and blacksmith weapon upgrades.
