In the fourth episode of Halo Season 1, entitled "Homecoming," quite a bit happens. Master Chief goes to his home planet, we catch up with Soren and Kwan Ha, and some big leaps forward are made with John's fellow Spartans and Miranda Keyes.

Warning: The following contains major spoilers for Halo Season 1, Episode 4–"Homecoming." If you've yet to watch the episode, you should stop reading now.

As John creeps closer and closer to learning the truths about his past--and found the second artifact from his childhood--there were plenty of Easter eggs, references to the larger Halo universe, and other moments you could have easily missed.

With the end of "Homecoming," it's clear the story is about to take a major turn, and it doesn't look like what's to come will paint Dr. Halsey in a very flattering light. Before that, though, take a look at the eight best Easter eggs from the episode below and sound off in the comments with whatever we missed!

Previous Halo Easter egg guides:

1. Little John

At the beginning of the episode, we see John early in his Spartan training. He's a lot smaller than the other kids, which is a bit of a change from the established lore. In the Halo novels he's described as being enormous for his age.

2. The Warthog

We've seen this in the background of a few scenes so far, but this is the best look at the iconic Halo vehicle yet. These have been in every Halo game.

3. What's that slot for now?

At about 10:20 in the episode, you see a shot of Chief's helmet from behind, complete with a slot near the base of his skull. In the games, this is how Cortana is installed. However, the show has changed that, with the AI being implanted in his head. It remains to be seen if this slot will be used for anything else on the show.

4. Sniper rifle

At about 15:40, we see Kai-125, a Spartan on John's team, cleaning a version of the Canon SRS99-AM sniper rifle that has been a mainstay in the games.

5. The coin flip test

At about 31:50, we see the first interaction between Halsey and a young John, as she tests his ability to predict coin tosses. The meeting happens in his parents' house on the show, however in the Halo books it takes place on a playground. The coin in question is the same one seen in last week's episode.

6. The needler

At around 32:50, back in Mirada Keyes' lab, there are several covenant artifacts collected. Among them is a needler, perhaps the coolest gun in the Halo franchise, which fires charged needle-like crystals.

7. Grunt death is funny

After going over the finer points--get it?--of how a needler works, Kai asks Miranda if she's ever heard a Covenant grunt beg for its life. "Kinda funny, actually," Riz chimes in. She's not wrong, in the games the grunts run away screaming.

8. That old familiar tune

At 49:15, Miranda mentions a "sacred ring," a "halo." At that point, the iconic Halo theme from the games begins to briefly play, before the scene continues.
