It's an exciting time for Destiny 2 players, as the upcoming Witch Queen expansion looks set to deliver a spooky story, a new location to explore, and most importantly, new Exotic gear to collect.

In the aftermath of Destiny 2 developer Bungie being acquired by Sony, its latest expansion charts a new path for the franchise. While we have more details in our dedicated hub, what you can expect from the latest year of Destiny content is a focus on strange new locations to explore, several seasons of narrative content, and of course, the all-important Exotic gear to update your arsenal with.

No matter how deadly a reality-warping space god might be, Destiny 2 continues to prove that ancient cosmic forces are no match for weapons that fire explosive worms from a well-crafted T-shirt cannon or a fresh delivery of Glaive to the sternum. The latest trailer for the upcoming expansion teased several new weapons and armor pieces that players can acquire, and we've gathered them all up below.

Glaives

What would a Swiss-Army Knife look like in the Destiny universe? The answer is a deadly tool of destruction that can wipe enemies out from long range or perform facial reconstruction surgery with extreme prejudice at close range. If offense fails, you can also use it to form a shield from enemy attacks with its defensive attributes, and even better, each of Destiny 2's classes will be able to use unique skills with this new weapon type.

Interestingly, each of these skills appears to work best with other Glaive-wielding Guardians, as they form a powerful fusion of defense, regeneration, and offense.

Titan Glaive: Edge of Action

Titans can tap into their defensive techniques when using a Glaive, but with a big difference. While the Ward of Dawn Super can create a large protective dome around a Titan and their allies, the Edge of Action ability gives this class the option to throw a smaller barrier around an ally. Judging by the trailer, this looks to be a Void-energy shield, although it remains to be seen if Guardians can fire out of it while being completely protected from enemy projectiles.

Warlock Glaive: Edge of Intent

Warlocks can be turned into combat medics in Destiny 2 using the right set of skills and supers, but the Edge of Intent Glaive ability gives them the chance to place a healing turret on the field. If this turret is anything like the Well of Radiance though, you'll need to make certain that enemies don't prematurely destroy your healing rift with a few well-placed shots.

Hunter Glaive: Edge of Concurrence

The Hunter's unique skill riffs on their Arcstrider subclass, launching bolts of lightning on the ground that seeks out and chains to nearby enemies. It looks deadly and easily capable of taking out a horde of cannon fodder, perfect for those occasions when enemies have you outnumbered.

Grand Overture

Grand Overture appears to function like a fusion between Wardcliff Coil and Skyburner's Oath. Described as a Slug launcher that charges full auto missiles, it appears that a well-aimed barrage can annihilate anything in front of you until the ammo runs out. The big difference here is that Grand Overture looks like it has more precise payload delviery when it comes to aiming, as opposed to Wardcliff Coil's spray 'n pray approach. The caveat is that the weapon will only be available if you own the season pass for The Witch Queen.

Parasite

If you absolutely despised the Witherhoard Exotic grenade launcher, then Parasite is likely also going to earn a spot on your PvP hate-list. Aesthetically, it's a wonderfully silly design that hurls Hive worms at enemies that explode in a gruesome shower of gas, doing increasing damage the longer you're caught up in that toxic cloud. Great for taking down slow-moving enemies and mobs, possibly better for flushing out players from Control points during Iron Banner events.

Osteo Striga

Sticking to a toxic theme--one of the best Britney Spears songs--Osteo Striga is a submachine gun that sharp-eyed players can wield to devastating effect. This weapon fires swarming projectiles that trigger a toxic blast, plus it has a gnarly Hive-inspired design. From the short teaser, it looks like Osteo Striga might be one of the fabled Weapons of Sorrow, a group that also includes the hand cannon Thorn and the auto rifle Nechrochasm.

Hoarfrost-Z Chest

Titan armor usually augments the class's ability to be good at punching things really hard, but the Hoarfrost-Z Chest will find plenty of fans amongst the Titans who enjoy using Stasis. This chest armor swaps out the Titan's Barricade ability for a solid wall of Stasis ice, perfect for when players need a short reprieve from overwhelming odds or want to halt the momentum of other Guardians in the Crucible.

Osmiomancy Gloves

Stasis was a terrific subclass for Warlocks, until Bungie somewhat nerfed it in several patches. Osmiomancy Gloves restore some of the terror to the space wizards who long for the glory days of this subclass, augmenting the Coldsnap ability with even more efficient tracking. You can run, but you can't hide from the Warlock's icy magic.

Blight Ranger Helmet

Hunters are no strangers to Exotics that give them some of the best offensive abilities in Destiny 2, and the Blight Ranger helmet looks like it'll turn the class into flexible assassins. In the trailer, it appears as if the Exotic helmet works in conjunction with the Arcstrider Super, giving Hunters the ability to not only reflect projectiles but to return them to their sender with increased damage. You might want to think twice before you start firing rockets and grenades at a Hunter equipped with this gear.
