7 Moments From The Hawkeye Trailer We Need To Know More About Friv 0

The first trailer for Disney+'s Hawkeye series is here. The upcoming show stars Jeremy Renner, reprising his role as Clint Barton, and Hailee Steinfeld, taking on the role as Kate Bishop. Additionally, Florence Pugh is on the show, reprising her role of Yelena Belova from Black Widow. If you've seen Black Widow, you know why she'll be in the new Marvel original series.

With the launch of the first trailer for the series, which hits the streaming service on November 24, we have a lot of questions. And yes, there are some questions about Rogers: The Musical as well. However, going through the new trailer, we also found some connections to the beloved Hawkeye comic book series by Matt Fraction and David Aja.

Below, you'll find some moments we can't wait to learn more about as we await Hawkeye to come to Disney+ a couple months from now.

Rogers: The Musical

Rogers: The Musical is currently trending on Twitter. Why? Because it's one of the strangest moments from the entire Hawkeye trailer. There's a quick shot of Manhattan, and we see a sign and posters for this Broadway show. Of course a superhero would get musical show, Spider-Man got one in real life, with some pretty terrible songs--I still like the Comedy Bang Bang TV show parody more.

So many questions...

The very brief moment we got to see of Rogers: The Musical was fantastic. We saw the entire cast do a spin and pose, and it's pretty clear that this moment covers the Battle of New York--the first Avengers movie. It's all very silly. It's all very Broadway. Yet somehow, I want to see this whole musical.

From the looks of the trailer, it seems like Clint is taking his family to see it, trying to get his private life back in order. However, New York City is a big leap from the farm he and his family lives on. Did they really travel all this way to go see a musical about Steve Rogers?

Is Hawkeye trying to be my favorite holiday movie/TV show?

Die Hard is the greatest Christmas/holiday movie of all time--with Jingle All The Way being a close second. However, Marvel is looking to get its hat into the ring with Hawkeye, which takes place during the holiday season. "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" blasts throughout the trailer, letting everyone know that this movie is all about the holiday season. Hawkeye seems like a solid mixture of action and comedy, which is exactly what Die Hard is.

Will there be more backstory on Ronin?

When Hawkeye first appeared as Ronin in Avengers: Endgame, the audience wasn't given a ton of information about his journey to that new disguise. Hawkeye lost his family and friends, and became Ronin--hunting down criminals privately. In no way was Ronin a public figure like Hawkeye. So why is Kate Bishop dressing as this character now? Understandably, in the comics, she's a Hawkeye superfan, but how did she know he was Ronin?

Who is Hawkeye talking to?

No, we're not talking about his daughter, who is standing right in front of him. Clint has an earpiece in his ear, which you can easily see in this shot. Considering the Avengers are in disarray and that SHIELD hasn't been a powerful operation since Captain America: The Winter Soldier, who is Barton plugged into? There's a chance it's Kate Bishop, but at this time, it's not clear.

Is this Pizza Dog?

During Matt Fraction and David Aja's Hawkeye comic--which you should totally read--Clint became the owner of a dog originally named Arrow. Clint renamed the dog Lucky. Fans of the comic series began calling Lucky "Pizza Dog" because the pup loved pizza. Much like the dog in the trailer, Lucky is a golden retriever, so there's a very good chance this is Pizza Dog.

That's for sure Pizza Dog, right?

What nearly confirms that the pup is Pizza Dog for fans is this very quick shot of a group of men in red tracksuits throwing a Molotov cocktail at Clint. Lucky (Pizza Dog) was originally Ivan Banionis' pet. He was a member of the Tracksuit Draculas--or Tracksuit Mafia. We won't get into too much detail as to what happens after this, as there's a chance it could be spoilers for the upcoming Disney+ series.

From the looks of this new trailer, it seems like the Hawkeye series will follow Fraction and Aja's Hawkeye comic, which is the right way to go. Hawkeye comes to Disney+ on November 24.
