Star Trek: Picard has officially debuted on CBS All Access, and this season will indeed bring back some of our favorite characters from The Next Generation. Episode 1, Remembrance, sets up what's to come this season, but we also know Season 2 is on the way--and it will apparently bring back Guinan, with Patrick Stewart showing up on The View to extend an invitation to Whoopi Goldberg. But there are even more TNG characters we'd love to see show up as part of Picard's upcoming travels--to see the complete wishlist, read on.
CBS All Access series Star Trek: Picard brings us back to the world of The Next Generation and is set to air in early 2020, and as the title suggests, it will star Jean-Luc Picard, as he heads back into the final frontier--space.
And Patrick Stewart won't be the only The Next Generation actor reprising their role. Jeri Ryan is returning as Seven of Nine, the ex-Borg on Star Trek Voyager. Additionally, Brent Spiner will appear as Data. Marina Sirtis will also return as Deanna Troi, while Jonathan Frakes will once again take on the role of William Riker. Lastly, Jonathan Del Arco is returning as Hugh, the Borg that was severed from the collective by the Enterprise-D crew in "I, Borg."

Could there be more familiar faces yet to be released? Here are seven returning characters that we'd love to see in Star Trek: Picard. We don't need nor want a full Star Trek: The Next Generation reunion (though it would be pretty amazing to see). Still, these major and minor characters, taken from across different Trek series, would add context and depth to Picard's world. 7. Martok

Appeared in: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
In Season 7 of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Worf was named Chancellor of the Klingon High Council. However, he declined the position and instead passed the mantle to Martok, reasoning that the best leaders do not seek power, but have it thrust upon them.
Did Martok succeed in his position, and lead the Klingons to a new era of prosperity? Even if we just see a grey-haired Martok on a viewscreen, negotiating with an Admiral, he would be a sight for sore eyes.
6. Rom
Performed by: Max Grodénchik
Appeared in: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
No one in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine had the upward trajectory of Rom. Always discounted and underestimated as Quark's duller, submissive brother, Rom was appointed as the new Grand Nagus of the Ferengi Alliance in Season 7. As with Martok, Rom wouldn't need to have a full supporting role, just a visual check-in to affirm the established canon.
5. Philippa Louvois
Performed by: Amanda McBroom
Appeared in: Star Trek: The Next Generation
In the landmark Season 2 episode "Measure of a Man," Phillipa Louvois was a Judge Advocate General officer for Starfleet, who ruled on whether Data should be accorded full human rights or was the physical property of Starfleet. She ruled in Data's favor and was characterized as a tough, but fair judge.
She had an interesting relationship with Picard; they were romantically involved when they were younger, but she also prosecuted him during a career-threatening court-martial. An appearance by Louvois would challenge Picard intellectually and emotionally, in a way that he seldom is. And it would make sense, assuming she's still a Starfleet administrator.
4. Livingston

Appeared in: Star Trek: The Next Generation
Picard had few emotional keepsakes or possessions on Star Trek: The Next Generation, which is why Livingston, the lionfish in his ready room, always stood out. It gave the stolid captain a little vulnerability and warmth, even in the setting where he was often most intimidating.
Obviously, the original Livingston would be dead ten times over by the time Picard retired to his vineyard. But if we see Picard taking care of a new "Livingston" lionfish in his twilight years, it'll give the show some sweetness and continuity.
3. Guinan
Performed by: Whoopi Goldberg
Appeared in: Star Trek: The Next Generation
The bartender in the Enterprise-D's Ten Forward, Guinan was one of Picard's most trusted advisors and closest friends; she referred to their bond as beyond friendship and beyond family.
She was over 600 years old at the time of Star Trek: The Next Generation, so she would almost certainly be around at the time of Star Trek: Picard. Would she have remained in contact? Almost certainly. Such a close, intimate relationship wouldn't die so easily.
Update: Good news, Guinan fans. Patrick Stewart used his appearance on The View this week to officially invite Gooldberg to reprise her TNG role in the second season of Star Trek: Picard--and she said yes.
2. Beverly Crusher

Appeared in: Star Trek: The Next Generation
The chief medical officer on the Enterprise-D, Beverly Crusher had a palpable romantic tension with Picard. Her dead husband, Jack Crusher, was Picard's best friend; Picard personally returned Jack's body to Beverly after he was killed during an away team mission.
It would be way too much fan service to have Crusher and Picard in any sort of whirlwind romantic relationship. But perhaps, they remained friends. It seems very unlikely that Picard would ever lose contact with Beverly, given their shared loss and personal history.
1. Q
Performed by: John DeLancie
Appeared in: Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager
This is the only non-negotiable, must-have supporting character on this list. Q, the cosmic being who put humanity on trial in Star Trek: The Next Generation's series premiere, also appeared in the series finale, where he became an ally and helped Picard save humanity.
His last words to Picard were telling: "I'll be watching. And if you're very lucky I'll drop by to say hello from time to time. See you out there."
No one was more of a challenge and a hilarious pain in the ass to Picard as Q; this is the same guy who transformed Picard and his senior crew into Robin Hood and his Merry Men. We need his irreverence and feigned indifference on Star Trek: Picard, more than anything.
