Produced in partnership with Dell

Spring has indeed sprung, and it's not just April showers and the sudden need to read up on how to use TurboTax that'll be keeping gamers indoors this month, but a new slate of great-looking, hotly anticipated Steam titles. April's yet another month of endless riches as far as new titles go, and we've selected seven of the best ones vying for your valuable time and hard drive space. We assure you, the flowers will be back next year, you aren't missing anything outdoors.

Paradigm

Release Date: April 5th

Imagine a low budget, Eastern European remake of Oddworld: Abe's Odysee and you've maybe captured a small percentage of the big crazy parade of insanity that is Paradigm. It's a point-and-click adventure in which you play as the world's most handsome post-apocalyptic nuclear mutant as he tries to escape the clutches of the evil genetic conglomerate run by a sloth that can't stop throwing up neatly packaged candy bars every few minutes. It's a game where the usual adventure game instinct to click everything actually pays off. If you call paying off “may displease your friend the talking eggplant”. Don't take our word for it though; there's a demo you can peruse over at www.paradigmadventure.com.

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition

Release Date: April 7th

Bulletstorm was one of the most inexplicable cult hits of the modern age of gaming. How a game made by the wonderful lunatics who made Painkiller, bolstered by all the AAA horsepower Epic Games could provide and so dedicated to the cause of joyous, psychotic FPS glee didn't become a permanent staple of every gamer's library boggles the mind. However, Gearbox, in their benevolence, have teamed up with People Can Fly to give Gray and his motley crew a second chance to shoot, kick, slide, and lash themselves into your hearts. The Full Clip Edition gives the original game a full 2017 makeover, bumping resolution up to 4K, a new graphical toggle for “realistic” graphics, includes all the DLC, a new challenge-based Echoes mode, and a special appearance by the King himself, Duke Nukem.

What Remains of Edith Finch

Release Date: April 25th

First person exploratory games are becoming almost as ubiquitous as their shooter brethren, but while separating wheat from chaff can sometimes be a little difficult, What Remains of Edith Finch has a pedigree that stands head and shoulders above the rest. It's a game by Giant Sparrow, the folks behind the delightful and beautiful Unfinished Swan on Playstation, and being published by Annapurna Interactive, a gaming branch of the film company responsible for some of the best movies of the last five years, including Zero Dark Thirty, Her, American Hustle, and The Master. Giant Sparrow is clearly looking for that level of prestige in this generation-spanning tale where young Edith Finch explores her family's home, reliving the dying day of each family member that shuffled loose the mortal coil under its roof.

Telltale/Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Episode 1: Tangled Up In Blue

Release Date: April 18th

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is still about a month away, and while there's plenty of ways to help Make Yours Marvel until then, Telltale is about to take the edge off big time with its first Marvel series, based on the Guardians of the Galaxy. While the team's make up and designs are ripped straight out of the MCU—sorry, anybody hoping to make life-changing decisions as Adam Warlock—this will be a entirely original adventure for the team, in which our favorite bunch of a-holes steal an artifact that runs them afoul of the Mad Titan Thanos.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3

Release Date: April 25th

Yes, technically, there's a 3 in that title, but this is "just another" Sniper: Ghost Warrior game like GTA III was "just another" GTA. CI Games has apparently remembered there's two other words in that title they could be taking full advantage of, and have designed accordingly. This time, the game will be throwing you in a vast open world near the Russian border where you can either lay waste to your enemies from a distance like usual, slay them silently from the shadows, or get up close and personal. It's nice to have options, isn't it?

Syberia 3

Release Date: April 20th

13 years ago, Benoit Sokal's epic about Kate Walker's journey to the frozen lands that time forgot came to a melancholy end as she sent Hans Voralberg on his merry, mammoth way. But Kate's back this month. The long-in-development third game in the Syberia series will bring Kate back to life, making another trek across an unknown land with a nomadic tribe of bird-shepherds. This time, however, Kate'll be making the trip in fully realized 3D environments. Our next trip to the island has been far too long coming.

Little Nightmares

Release Date: April 27th

It's no surprise to learn the folks behind the creepy Little Nightmares were helping hands over at Sony on the LittleBigPlanet series and Tearaway. It's got a similar feel, but replacing freewheeling delight and boundless community creativity for grim, unnerving terror. You play as Six, an unfortunate little person stuck in a beautifully rendered, but freakish carnival funhouse of horrors populated by the souls of the condemned, and some very real childhood fears come to life. Try to inject whimsy into this one, disembodied voice of Stephen Fry.
